About Us Redefined
OUR MISSION IS TO BE THE BEST UPCYCLERS IN THE WORLD
BUZIGAHILL transforms second-hand clothing into luxury fashion, redistributing the re-identified garments to their origins in the Global North. Since launching in 2022, this circular model has evolved through 12 collections — carried by top-tier Japanese retailers, and debuted on the runway at Berlin Fashion Week in July 2025.
IDENTIFIED
The Reality of Clothing Overproduction & Waste Colonialism
Fast fashion is built around mass overproduction — a system sustained by the rapid consumption and disposal of cheap garments. In the Global North, people drop unwanted clothing into collection bins believing they are donations. In reality, the majority of these discards are collected by private companies to be sorted and sold for profit.
Through an opaque sorting process, higher-value vintage is redirected to wealthy markets, while lower-grade clothing is sold by the ton to traders in the Global South.
A Reverse Logistics Cycle
Our in-house production process transforms waste into luxury. Ten stations, one studio, Kampala — scroll to trace a single garment's route back out.

A Team Refusing the End of the Supply Chain
We are a creative team of Ugandans based in our Kampala studio — the only design and production facility of its kind in the country. We handle everything from sourcing at Owino Market to tailoring, design, communications, and e-commerce photography.
Bobby Kolade was born in Sudan to Nigerian-German parents and raised between Kampala and Lagos. He holds a Master's in Fashion Design from the Academy of Arts Berlin Weißensee, with professional experience at Maison Margiela and Balenciaga in Paris.
In 2018, Bobby returned to Kampala and spent two years researching the Ugandan cotton supply chain — a vision for sustainable-cotton collections that ultimately fell apart. BUZIGAHILL was founded in 2021 as a direct response to the effects of second-hand clothing on Uganda's textile industry.
